Dr. William T. Hoston
Welcome to the website of Dr. William T. Hoston,
Professor, Author, College Motivational Speaker,
Public Intellectual, Poet, and Leader for the 21st
Century.

Dr. Hoston (Ph.D., University of New Orleans, 2007)
joined the School of Human Sciences and Humanities
at the University of Houston-Clear Lake in 2009. He
holds the positions of Convener for the Political
Science program and Assistant Professor. Dr. Hoston
previously taught at Wichita State University
(2006-2009). He has worked at some of the major
research universities in the country. Dr. Hoston has
taught in multiple disciplines in the social
sciences that include political science, criminology
and criminal justice, sociology, and
African-American history.
Dr. Hoston attended Belle Chasse High School in
Louisiana where he was Who’s Who Among American High
School Students and a standout football player. He
earned a Bachelors in general studies from the
University of New Orleans, a Masters of Science from
Florida State University in criminology and criminal
justice, and Ph.D. in political science from the
University of New Orleans.
Dr. Hoston’s motto is: I just want to be an example.
Many have come before me and hopefully those that
come after will be inspired by the example that I
