Dr. Hoston is a Professor, Author, College Motivational Speaker, Public Intellectual, Poet, and Leader for the 21st Century. As an educator for the past 13 years, he has helped hundreds of college students find their purpose and maximize their potential.

A New Orleans native, Dr. Hoston is a young man who overcame early obstacles to eventually earn his Ph.D. Born into a single-parent household, he watched his mother and grandmother attempt to provide a stable environment. When he was a child, Dr. Hoston and his mother struggled like most families to make ends meet. Growing up in New Orleans he saw how a life of crime, drugs, and violence would lead him down the wrong path. He has two brothers in prison, Feddrick and Cleveland, whom both have fallen victim to the streets. Dr. Hoston took the road less traveled by most African-American men and decided to stay in school and earn his Ph.D.

In spite of growing up in these circumstances, Dr. Hoston has been steadfast in his commitment to academic success. He delivers an inspirational message of determination, hard work, and pursuit of achievement to college students. Dr. Hoston is an extraordinary speaker and has presented to national, regional and local television and radio, conferences, workshops, and seminar audiences. Dr. Hoston is working on his first motivational book entitled, “Listen To Me Now, Or Listen To Me Later: Open Your Ears, Achievement Is Talking To You.”
